John A. Ostenburg recently was re-elected to his fourth four-year term as Mayor of Park Forest, Illinois, where he also serves as the municipal Liquor Commissioner.
In 2009, John A. Ostenburg received the Diversity Award from Diversity Inc. for his work in fighting discrimination based on race, religion, gender, or sexual orientation.
John A. Ostenburg is the Cook County at-large representative on the Executive Committee of the South Suburban Mayors & Managers Association. He also serves on the Community & Economic Development Committee of the National League of Cities.

John A. Ostenburg serves as the Vice Chairperson of the Abraham Lincoln National Airport Commission (ALNAC), a post he has held since the Commission was established.
John A. Ostenburg has served on the Board of Directors of the Birch Street Townhomes Cooperative for 28 years. He has written articles for the Bulletin of the National Association of Housing Cooperatives and presented workshops at several of the NAHC's annual meetings.
